    Regional Seed Swaps

    Cultive Oregon supports regional seed swaps in Southern Oregon in collaboration with many community partners and local seed producers. We welcome seed stewards new and experienced to join us at these fun community-centered events that keep seeds at the center of the Food System.

    Farm Tours

    In an effort to encourage soil-focused cultivation, Cultivate Oregon organizes educational farm tours and provides soil health resources, including an upcoming Occultation Tarping Workshop.

    Coming Up on November 15!

    Build Healthy Native Meadows: Occultation Tarping

    Participants will learn practical, low-input techniques for preparing fields and small properties without tillage or herbicides, drawing connections between soil biology, carbon storage, weed management, and successful native plant establishment. Learn more and register.

    Living Soil Awards

    Along with Friends of Family Farmers, Cultivate Oregon invited Oregonians to nominate and vote for farmers who are not just talking the "soil health" talk, but walking the soil health walk! Four amazing farmers each won a prize of $1,000 at a virtual awards ceremony in 2021.

    Enabling Regenerative Agriculture: Getting Paid For Improving Soil Health

    A virtual symposium that took place over two days in November of 2020 that set out to educate farmers, orchardists, vintners, ranchers, landowners, managers, philanthropists, decision-makers, state agency personnel, and others on how farmers can get financial rewards for producing healthy soil.

    A effort started during 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Cultivate Oregon distributed free seeds to anyone in Oregon who requested them for personal use or to share with community members.
